Total Marine Services of Jefferson, Inc. (TMS) is located on Destrehan Avenue, near the Lapalco Bridge on the Intracoastal Waterway West (Harvey Canal) in Harvey, Louisiana (metropolitan New Orleans). TMS has the ultimate in hauling capabilities and versatility, including a dry-dock, and travelift. We provide dry-docking and travelift hauling for repair services to a variety of vessels, including; towboats, push boats, tugs, dredges, various types of barges, offshore supply vessels, crew boats, ferryboats, paddlewheel boats, ferries, trawlers, fishing boats, pleasure boats, houseboats, wood hulls, commercial vessels, and others. The travelift offers capability to load boats and barges on top of other floating equipment, etc., or on trailers for highway transport.

Kirk J. Bergeron
Chief Executive Officer

Kirk is a graduate from the University of New Orleans, earning his Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering degree in 1988. His 21 years experience in the marine industry includes "hands-on" fabrication and repair of vessels servicing the petroleum industry, design and testing of combatant watercraft for the U.S. Army, and eight years of combined, domestic and foreign, service with the American Bureau of Shipping.

Joining Total Marine Services in 1999, Kirk now leads the company, excited in his pursuit of maintaining TMS' competitive niche in the industry and opportunities to expand its' capabilities in responding to the ever-changing needs of its' customers.



Anthony "Tony" Bergeron
Founder

Originally from Morgan City, Louisiana, and having completed a combined engineering and business program at Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana, Lafayette), Tony joined Sewart Seacraft in 1959 as production engineer on the U.S. Navy's Swift Program.

In 1966 Tony moved to Gretna, a small suburb outside of New Orleans, and joined Camcraft, Inc., specializing in the design and fabrication of aluminum crew boats, and eventually promoted to vice-president.

In 1973, at age 41, he founded Bergeron Boats, Inc., a Lafitte-based boat yard, specializing in the design and fabrication of steel and aluminum vessels for the U.S. Military, as well as the local petroleum and fishing industry.

Twelve years later, having served as marketing and project consultant for Swiftships, Inc., Total Marine Services was formed to satisfy the growing demand for repairs to lightering barges and other marine equipment. Over the years, Total Marine as earned a reputation for its craftsmanship, expertise and experience.



Cecil "Pee Wee" Hall
Boat Yard Manager

Cecil has over 38 years of experience in marine fabrication and repair. Since joining Total Marine Services in 1990, Cecil has taken the lead in responding to the diverse demands of our customers, and ensuring that we provide prompt and quality service in response to the needs of our customers.
